£8million European Funding unveiled today

19 April 2016

Eight million pounds* of European Regional Development funding (ERDF) is now available for outline project applications, which support small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) across the South East Midlands.

£4 million of this funding is for projects that will enhance the competitiveness of SMEs, including social enterprises.  Successful bids are likely to include projects that focus on the provision of business advice and support, entrepreneurship or land and premises for employment sites.

A further £4 million is also available for projects that will help SMEs to invest in and benefit from research and innovation. Successful project applications are likely to promote collaborations between enterprises, research and development centres and the Higher Education sector, support technological and applied research and infrastructure that will contribute towards greater commercialisation of products, services and processes.

This allocation is part of the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership’s (SEMLEP’s) European Structural Investment Funding (ESIF).

Projects must support SMEs based in the South East Midlands, an area which covers Aylesbury, Bedford, Central Bedfordshire, Cherwell, Corby, Daventry, Kettering, Luton, Milton Keynes, Northampton and South Northamptonshire.

Organisations are invited to submit outline applications by 27th May, 2016. Applications should be for a minimum of £500,000 ERDF plus eligible match funding*.

Two ERDF information events are being organised by South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP). The events are an opportunity to find out further information about this call for projects.

The first, on Tuesday 3rd May, will be held at Milton Keynes College. The second, on Thursday, 5th May, will be held at Northampton Innovation Centre. Both are from 9.30am to 3.30pm.  Both events will provide the same information to attendees.
