SEMLEP is working to ensure that all of our communications are accessible and easy to understand. This includes our website and social media, our presentations and papers.

We are working towards full compliance of the international WCAG 2.1 AA standards for www.semlep.com.

This includes meeting requirements for:

  • Colour contrast- we try to use colours that provide maximum contrast between the foreground and background. www.semlep.com passes AA rating.
  • Images- our images on website pages include an alt-text attribute which describes the contents or function of them.
  • Hyperlinks- hyperlink text colour passes colour contrast tests and change colour when cursers are moved across them.
  • Responsive design- website pages re-size according to the device used.
  • Navigation- you can navigate through most of the website using just a keyboard.

To be open and transparent about our decisions and wider governance and processes, SEMLEP publishes agendas, papers and minutes for our Boards and Committees, where the Committee has delegated authority. These are hosted on the website.

We know that not all parts of the website are fully accessible.

  • Papers, including presentation material published prior to 23 September 2020 are not fully accessible to screen-reader software.
  • Whilst modern browers will have zoom functionality to increase text size, our website uses pixels for fonts so older versions of internet explorer will not allow text size to increase.
  • At present, we are unable to provide information in other languages.

If you require an alternative format of information on our website, please contact comms@semlep.com stating your accessibility needs or call 01234 436100.
