The Exchange, Aylesbury

An exciting new public square in a mixed use development which has changed the footfall and way in which people visit and use the Aylesbury town centre. The scheme has delivered 47 apartments, five restaurants and a stunning new public square where people can sit and relax as well as enjoy a range of thought-provoking sculpture.

The builders of the Exchange in Aylesbury have been recognised for the development’s contribution to the public realm of Aylesbury at the 26th annual Aylesbury Vale District Council Design Awards.
The ceremony, held on Thursday 5 December 2019 brought together designers, architects, builders and contractors to show their excellence. Projects were judged on local distinctiveness, quality of design and construction, fitness for purpose, sustainability, accessibility and attractiveness. Read more…

November 2018
The front elevation stone & brickwork with scaffold mostly removed, with the paving mostly completed to the area immediately outside of the restaurants.
July 2018
The windows and balconies are currently being installed and the external stone and brickwork to the front colonnade is continuing giving the building its character. The internal blockwork is also progressing, identifying the unit boundaries.
The Public Realm Artwork including the three large sculptures and the bespoke street furniture, reflecting the ‘I am’ theme is going through final design stages and fabrication. The site compound is being relocated to allow access for the ground works to commence.
