Wellingborough Campus Renewal Project

This project has seen substantial works to the Tresham College tower block in Wellingborough (part of the Bedford College Group), refurbishment of other on-site buildings as well as improvements to the college access.
Funding Stream: Local Growth Fund
LGF Awarded: £7.5million (and £1.2million additional funds)
Total Project Cost: £11.2million
Delivery Partner: Bedford College Group
Project Status: Opened September 2020
Projected Outputs: 1066 additional new learners per annum by 2021/22

December 2020
The new college campus opened to students on 14 September 2020 and an official opening ceremony will follow in early 2021. The extensive refurbishment has been a fantastic achievement!

Great progress has been made on site as the campus redevelopment progresses to be ready for a September opening for new students in Wellingborough.

- Mobile control unit lifted off the roof
- Roof cleared of mast
- The new roof has been put on the hall

- Asbestos has been removed from the ceiling
- The demolition is on-going
- New protected electrical supplies installed to each floor
- New wireless fire alarm installed to all doors
