KW Special Projects Digital Manufacturing Centre

This project, led by high-performance engineering consultancy KW Special Projects, has created a new 1,657 sqm Digital Manufacturing Centre at Silverstone Park.

The centre acts as a technology innovation hub, providing on-site access to digital manufacturing facilities including a range of additive manufacturing technologies while also allowing SMEs to access knowledge and advice by encouraging an eco-system in digital manufacturing. High-quality incubation and manufacturing space suitable for high-performance technology start-ups are also benefits of the new facility.

The innovation centre is expected to help develop new and high-value engineering opportunities and assist over 100 SMEs, while also forecast to contribute £9 million gross value added to the region.

April 2021

The final phase of fit-out works is drawing to an end. With the workshop now successfully handed over and the machinery fixed in position, the new office space is on track for completion next month.

The first machines have also been commissioned, with further commissioning ongoing. Plus, with new business growing and a number of exciting partnerships having been recently announced, additional recruitment for the new Digital Manufacturing Centre is well underway.

Funding has been secured for a new Digital Manufacturing Centre at Silverstone Park, that is forecast to generate £9 million additional economic value for the area.
