Milton Keynes Gallery and Fred Roche Foundation Event - Future City Talk

Date: February 3rd, 13:30

Knowledge - Intensive Growth

The Cambridge - Milton Keynes - Oxford Growth Corridor

This year’s programme of talks and events by FRF in collaboration with MK Gallery is concentrating on local and regional issues, and particularly on those issues that have been raised by Plan:MK and the MK Futures 2050 programme.

The first event to be held in February will look at the Government’s interest in the Cambridge - Milton Keynes - Oxford growth corridor, and the brief given to the National Infrastructure Commission.

NIC has been asked to maximise the potential of the corridor as a single, knowledge-intensive cluster and to ensure this competes on a global stage, while protecting the area’s high quality environment, and securing the homes and jobs that the area needs. The event will be held at MK Gallery in Central Milton Keynes.

Speakers at the event will include:

Sadie Morgan Director. dRMM Architects, NIC Commissioner.

Louise Wyman HCA Garden Villages, Towns and Cities Lead.

David Rudin. Director. URBED (Urbanism Environment and Design) Ltd and winner of the 2014 Wolfson Economic Prize.

Hilary Chipping. Deputy CEO, Head of Infrastructure, SEMLEP and Clive Faine. Chair PDIIDG subgroup, SEMLEP

Our guest chair for the afternoon will be:

John Worthington. Founding Partner, DEGW. Commissioner, Independent Transport Commission, Academy of Urbanism.

The focus of the event is on good design being at the centre of any strategic plan for infrastructure, housing and jobs and to understand how infrastructure in all its manifestations can enable new and expanded settlements which incorporate the highest standards of design and place making.

Please go to the MK Gallery web site at for the address of the venue and where you can book your place for the event.

Doors will be open from 13.30pm, the event will start at 14.00pm and be followed by a Q&A session.

We trust this event will be of interest and look forward to seeing you.
