IDP15 Competition Briefing - London

Date: September 20th, 09:00-16:00

An opportunity for the complimentary technologies behind ultra-low / zero emission vehicles to learn more about the IDP funding opportunity.

Background: The UK is positioned as a world leader in the development and manufacture of ultra-low / zero emission vehicles. The Government’s Road to Zero strategy has set an expectation that by 2030 at least 50%, and as many as 70%, of new car sales and up to 40% of new van sales will be ultra low emission. This builds on the commitment for all new cars and vans to be effectively zero emission by 2040.

Progress on the transition to zero emission vehicles has increased over recent years thanks in part to Government supported programmes such as the Integrated Delivery Programme (IDP) and the Faraday Battery Challenge.

Innovate UK is pleased to announce that the next round of funding for IDP will be open in September 2018. This competition builds on the success of previous IDP funding rounds and highlights Government’s commitment to UK automotive now and into the future.

This Event: This briefing event is an opportunity for the complimentary technologies behind ultra-low / zero emission vehicles to learn more about the IDP funding opportunity.

During the event delegates will hear from UK Research and Innovation, representatives of the UK’s automotive sector and the Office for Low Emission Vehicles. Following this will be the main competition briefing session that will be presented by Innovate UK and will cover IDP15’s scope. Finally, delegates will convene to learn about the Innovate UK application process.

A particular strength of joining the briefing event is the significant opportunity delegates have to network with organisations from across the automotive supply chain. You will also have the chance to engage with Innovate UK directly.

This event is aimed and business of all sizes (micro, SME and large) academics and local authorities with an interest in low or zero emission vehicles. Organisations who have been involved in any past or current Innovate UK competitions in the automotive space are welcome.

A full agenda will be available shortly.

Pitch opportunity: As part of the day, there will be an opportunity for delegates to do a short 2min pitch which should overview the technology and capabilities, fleet requirements and issues, consortium or project idea and the consortium members you are looking for. If this is of interest, please select this option during registration and you will be sent further information closer to the event.

About IDP15: Competition Opens: 17th September 2018. This event marks the latest competition in the IDP series. Supporting IDP15 will be a multimillion pound investment by The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV). UK business can apply for a share of the available funding to develop zero emission vehicle technologies. This year Power Electronics, Machines and Drives will be a strategic focus with organisations in this space encouraged to attend the event. Other zero emission technologies traditionally supported under IDP will again be in scope. As delivery partner Innovate UK will manage all new and innovative IDP15 projects that contribute to economic growth and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution on our roads.

The complete IDP15 competition scope will be available in September via the Innovate UK webpage here – https://apply-for-innovation-funding.service.gov.uk/competition/search
