Shaping Careers Education at a Local School: Enterprise Adviser Volunteering

Organiser: CIPD
Time: 12.30 PM - 1.30 PM
Date: Tuesday 5 May 2020

We are currently living through a time of change and uncertainty, and it is particularly uncertain for those shortly leaving education and entering the world of work. Businesses are scaling back entry-level recruitment which will lead to limited opportunities for young people entering the employment market. Thus it is crucial that all young people continue to receive good quality careers education and guidance so they feel ready to enter the future world of work.

Join the Social Impact team at the CIPD to learn how you can virtually volunteer to inspire and support young people to successfully enter the workplace by shaping careers education at a local school.

Enterprise Advisers Role and Responsibilities:
The CIPD is looking for senior-level business professionals, interested in improving talent pipelines, driving social mobility and interested in using professional skills and expertise to inspire young people. The CIPD has already supported over 900 people and business professionals to start volunteering with schools.

Enterprise Advisers:

  • Draw on extensive business experience to help shape and drive forward a school or college’s careers strategy.
  • Have an established network and willingness to forge new connections whilst acting as a champion for business engagement with young people.

The Enterprise Adviser programme is delivered in conjunction with The Careers & Enterprise Company connecting professionals from the world of work with local schools or colleges.

This is a fantastic development opportunity for emerging leaders in your teams. Why not invite a friend or colleagues to join you and inspire them to join the growing Enterprise Adviser Network?
