Students flock to National Apprenticeship Show

13 March 2017

Thousands of students flocked to Arena MK in Milton Keynes for the Central leg of the National Apprenticeship Show, with representatives of SEMLEP on hand to help employers discover the benefits of integrating apprentices into their workforce.

Paul Thompson from the Careers & Enterprise Company manned the Velocity stand at the show and used the event to discuss apprenticeships withdozens of local employers and education providers.

He said: “Apprenticeships are hugely popular and continue to grow in terms of attractiveness to employers. They allow companies to nurture talent for both new recruits and existing employees, building a skilled workforce for the future, benefiting the business through increased productivity and quality.”

Colleges from across the SEMLEP region were in attendance at the show, as well as key employers such as Cosworth, DHL, Lloyds and Amazon.
