Government's flagship global zero emission vehicle summit hosted by cenex LCV2018

5 June 2018

Cenex has announced that VIPs from Government’s Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) Summit will be attending Cenex-LCV2018. Starting in Birmingham on 11th September, the ZEV Summit will bring together policy makers, industry experts and opinion formers from around the world to discuss how to reduce emissions from transport and make the air we breathe cleaner.

The summit will continue at Cenex-LCV2018 - the UK’s premier low carbon vehicle event now in its 11th year.  The event is held at Millbrook Proving Ground in Central Bedfordshire on 12th September 2018. The Cenex-LCV event features innovative technology from international companies and is an established fixture of the automotive calendar.

This will be the UK’s first Zero Emissions Vehicle summit following a pledge from the Prime Minister at the One Planet event in Paris in 2017. It will support the ambitions set out in the Government’s Industrial Strategy to make transport cleaner and greener as part of its future mobility grand challenge. And it reinforces the government’s commitment to leave the environment cleaner for the next generation.

Robert Evans, CEO of Cenex said: “We are honoured that the ZEV Summit will be linked to our 11th annual Cenex-LCV Event this year. The UK is at the forefront of low carbon vehicle technology innovation and we think there is great value for the ZEV attendees to see these technologies first-hand at the Cenex-LCV exhibition.

“The Cenex-LCV event already attracts an international audience and provides a glimpse into the leading innovations in low carbon automotive transport and supporting energy infrastructure technologies. This years Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Showcase, sponsored by Meridian, will also help ensure the ZEV summit attendees see the synergies between zero emission vehicles and driverless cars when attending the Cenex-LCV event.

“We look forward to welcoming the ZEV summit attendees to the Cenex-LCV event and will be working with the Office for Low Emission Vehicles and our supporting partners across Government to ensure the combined events raise the profile of UK low carbon and zero emission vehicle activities on an international stage.”

The event will feature:

  • a technology exhibition with over 220 exhibitors
  • over 50 high profile speakers
  • a ride and drive experience in the latest low carbon vehicles
  • lots of networking opportunities among the expected 3000 delegates from the UK and overseas.

This year’s Showcase is being produced with the support of the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV), Innovate UK, Department for International Trade and Meridian Mobility.
