Chelveston Energy Park

Chelveston Energy Park

Chelveston Renewable Energy & Innovation Park is located on a former MOD airfield covering some 750 acres in the heart of the Oxford / Cambridge ARC within North Northamptonshire. The site combines multiple renewable energy technologies in power generation (up to 200GWh) and storage including the production of hydrogen from dedicated solar arrays. Bespoke buildings are available to occupier requirements and benefit from a direct, secure, reliable & sustainable power feed from the Energy Park. The Innovation Park provides for up to 32,900 sqm of commercial/business floor space and will become a centre for businesses to accelerate towards a zero-carbon future.

Energy is generated through a 500,000-panel solar array and 9 x 125m 2.85MW wind turbines with an installed capacity of 25.65MW. These are complemented with a 47MW Peak Lopping Plant (consented & to be constructed), a 10MW hydrogen production plant powered by a dedicated solar array (under construction) and a 20MW battery storage facility (under construction).

The Energy Park also has 2 grid connections (80MW export & 26MW import).
The Energy Park will also supply an associated development of 120 new homes with renewable energy generated on-site. The housing developed is within Rushden’s SUE and is due to commence in 2025. The total number of homes that could be supplied by the Energy Park is in excess of 25,000
Chelveston Renewable Energy & Innovation Park is believed to be the largest of its kind in the UK.
