Programme Contracts Manager

Salary: £35,000pa + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + 6% emp pension 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible working applications are welcome.

Job Summary:

  • This role will primarily support the Director of Programme and Governance to work with applicants for every project following approval by the LEP Board to formal contract and to output delivery arising from the funding.
  • This role will support in management of the overall LEP funding programmes.
  • To manage a portfolio of Getting Building Fund (GBF), Local Growth Fund (LGF) and Growing Places Fund (GPF) projects and those arising from any subsequent Government funding stream alongside other members of the SEMLEP Programme Team and wider staff. It may include engagement with the Growth Hub on business grant programmes.
  • To assist in supporting all external applicants for GBF funding to ensure all funding applications are compliant and are subsequently documented through a robust project pathway transparent including contracts and funding agreements to ensure they are properly assured and delivered as per the LEP’s Assurance Framework.
  • To manage the risks arising from a capital spend programme and report and act on these risks with the Programmes Team.
  • To develop working relationships with all the Delivery Partners’ Project Managers in the portfolio as part of the risk management and project delivery process.

High Growth Business Advisor 

Salary: £37,000pa + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + 6% emp pension 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible working applications are welcome. 
Contract Type: This contract will initially be until 31 March 2021, extension will be subject to continued government funding 
Responsible to: GrowthCurve Project Manager
Location: Your normal place of work will be home based. You will be required to travel in to the SEMLEP offices when required.

Job Summary:

This role will contribute to the successful delivery of an ERDF funded project, “GrowthCurve”, which is led by the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) and delivered through its partners the University of Northampton, University of Cranfield and University of Bedfordshire. The project will support businesses with the potential and aspiration to grow and which have been identified as scale ups.

There are four key elements to the role:

  • Business development – Identifying and engaging with local business who could participate in the project based on their current performance, growth potential and aspirations. GrowthCurve is ambitious in the number of businesses it will seek to engage with and sourcing potential participants is a vital process.
  • Diagnostic and Action planning – working with each client to understand their business in terms of its opportunities, its scalability and any barriers to growth. This will involve using one or more diagnostic tools and developing customised action plans which are 'owned' by the business and its management.
  • Account Management – Managing a portfolio of clients as they engage with the GrowthCurve project. This includes building relationships with clients who have been ‘recruited’ or referred to the project, taking a holistic approach to diagnosing their business needs, action planning including recommending appropriate support through the programme and maintaining on-going relationships with a portfolio of SMEs participating on the programme.
  • Project Administration – Tracking each client’s progress through the programme, helping to ensure they are benefitting from the support they are receiving and taking responsibility for the timely collection of required client paperwork in order to comply with ERDF regulations.

Each High Growth Business Advisor will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of between 120 and 150 businesses over the duration of the project (3 years in total).

Grants Officer 

Salary: £28,000pa + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + 6% emp pension

Job Summary

  • To provide day-to-day grant programme support for the grants scheme run by the Growth Hub  to assist business recovery.
  • You will be monitoring and reviewing grant applications, checking accuracy of data, ensuring compliance with project requirements and ensuring compliance with guidelines as part of the grant appraisal process.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate editing of claims to the Project Manager and for maintaining a detailed evidence base for the claims submitted.
  • To support the grants programme by arranging, supporting and minuting Grant Panel meetings, managing calendars, producing meeting papers, putting together the grant appraisals for presentation to the panel.
