Role purpose: To contribute to the development and delivery of the South East Midlands vision and Local Enterprise Partnership mission, Strategic Economic Plan and Local Industrial Strategy, ensuring that our organisation responds to the economic needs of the region.

This is a crucial time to be joining us as we work with central and local government, educators and businesses to secure the future of our national and local economies. You will also be joining us at a time of change for our partnership. As such you will have a pivotal role in setting long-term economic priorities for the South East Midlands and will steer the actions of our organisation so we are best placed to support our area's businesses and help our area to full its sustainable economic growth potential.

Salary: £34k-37k FTE (dependent on experience) + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + 6%
emp pension.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexible working applications are welcome.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Growing the Network locally by engaging and supporting a caseload of c.20 schools and
colleges. Ensure all institutions are matched with an Enterprise Adviser (EA)
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with senior leaders in local schools and
colleges within the caseload.
• Leading and coordinating relationships between the EA, the school/college and the wider
Network with a focus on impact, successful transition and destination outcomes for young
people.
• Ensuring all schools and colleges are self-assessing their careers programme using CEC
digital tools, driving Gatsby Benchmark performance and that all young people are
receiving help from high quality careers education.
• Acting as an ambassador for The Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) including raising
the profile of the Network through communication and marketing channels to engage with
key local stakeholders.
• Sharing learning from The CEC by delivering CPD sessions to education and business
audiences.

Job Summary

If you’re an experienced, skilled and collaborative individual you could become a part of team who work with employers, schools and young people to:

  • Provide information advice and guidance on destinations post-16
  • Ensure schools provide high quality careers education against the Gatsby benchmarks
  • Support with access to meaningful engagement with employers in the local area.

In particular, the Enterprise Coordinator will work in partnership with the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) and the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) in delivering support to schools and colleges to deliver modern, 21st century careers education through our Careers Hub.

The Enterprise Coordinator (EC) sits at the heart of our local Network to help schools and colleges improve their careers/enterprise programmes and engage with the world of work.
This position will be supporting schools and colleges within the Luton area with a focus on removing barriers for our vulnerable young people and supporting them to find their best next steps.

• Supporting and encouraging all employers to provide opportunities for young people, for example through the Give an Hour campaign.
• Working closely with the Hub Lead to manage the Cornerstone Employer Group (CEG), ensuring completion and regular review of the CEG self-assessment tool and the development of a commitment plan that reflects the priorities of the Careers Hub Strategic Hub Plan.
• Developing relationships with existing Cornerstone Employers helping them to deliver impact and system-change by understanding the local careers landscape and supporting them to target disadvantage, build sustainable relationships with schools/colleges, and improve outcomes for young people.
• Identifying businesses to join the CEG to ensure priority sector representation and a mix of large, SME and micro-organisations that reflect the local context.
• Engaging with employer-led groups including local sector initiatives
