Infrastructure commissioners hail useful visit

28 October 2016

Two Commissioners from the National Infrastructure Commission – Bridget Rosewell and Sadie Morgan – accompanied by officials, visited  the SEMLEP area on 19th October.

This was one of a series of fact finding visits that have been undertaken over the last few weeks as part of the Commission’s review of the Cambridge – Milton Keynes – Oxford corridor of growth.

In the morning the Commissioners toured the Northampton Waterside Enterprise Zone and saw Cosworth’s Advanced Manufacturing Centre. They then went to Milton Keynes where they were hosted by the Transport Systems Catapult and later toured development sites to the east of Milton Keynes before coming across to Cranfield for a roundtable discussion hosted by SEMLEP and chaired by Dr Ann Limb.

Commission officials later reported that the Commissioners had found the day 'really useful' and 'very interesting' and took away a lot to reflect on. An Interim Report from the NIC Review is expected in November with a final report in Autumn 2017.
