SEMLEP Chair search and recruitment

Title: SEMLEP Chair search and recruitment 2018

Procurement process: PR2005

Issue of specification: 21 September 2018

Closing date: 12 October 2018

Overview

As a private public partnership, SEMLEP is chaired by a private sector chairperson.  The Board comprises up to 9 private sector members and 8 public sector members with representatives from the HE and FE sectors.  Our Chair Dr Ann Limb CBE DL is standing down at the end of her year term 2018/19 and we are therefore seeking a new chair to lead SEMLEP into the next phase of its development as part of the Oxford-MK-Cambridge Growth Corridor.  This is taking place in the context of the 2018 publication of the LEP Review.

Due to the anticipated volume of work involved in advertising, searching, assessing and shortlisting for the Chair role, SEMLEP is seeking to appoint duly qualified and experienced search consultants (or HR consultants) to assist in this process.  Part of the role will be to connect with our internally run Board member recruitment process, Chief Executive, Director of Programmes and Governance and our Communications Manager.

Timescale requirements

We aim to appoint an agency to the role by mid-November for the search and recruitment to take place in late November and December.  We aim to interview around the turn of the year for the new chair to be in place for the February 2019 Board meeting.  We are looking for the recruitment to go live with a briefing pack after our AGM on 8 November.
