New bidding round for capital investment announced

1 October 2019

On 1 October 2019, SEMLEP launched a new bidding round for capital investment opportunities through the Local Growth Fund.

This bidding round is seeking projects for immediate delivery by March 2021 and to create a pipeline of new investment-ready projects for future opportunities.

Successful projects will deliver high-value employment opportunities, enhance our area’s business capabilities, creativity and innovations strengths and further increase skills for our area to remain competitive on a world stage. We are particularly looking for projects that respond the Government’s Grand Challenges on Clean Growth and the Future of Mobility.

The closing date for applications for immediate delivery is 12 noon Friday, 1 November 2019.  SEMLEP will make initial approval decisions by the end of December 2019 and aim to complete the second stage of project due-diligence by end March 2020. For successful projects, funding will be available in 2020/21 financial year.

For projects looking to go into the longer-term project pipeline for future funding opportunities, these applications will need to be submitted using the same form but by 12 noon Monday 6 January 2020.
