New commercial space at Millbrook

27 February 2018

Millbrook is further expanding its site in Bedford with a new, flexible commercial building. It will offer 950m2 of meeting room, event/presentation or workshop/garage space with office amenities. The new building would be suitable for either a customer wishing to base themselves at Millbrook, or a range of customers looking to use Millbrook’s secure test tracks in conjunction with a workshop, office or event space.

The new building will benefit companies in a growth phase that are looking for bespoke facilities without a long-term commitment. It would also suit established companies looking to relocate to world-class test facilities.

Martin Hughes, Director – Proving Ground and Technology Park said: “The new building will give companies involved in testing and engineering the option to either base themselves at Millbrook or to temporarily relocate to the site. We already have a number of companies on site benefitting from the facilities and look forward to welcoming even more once the building is complete.”

The build is benefitting from a SEMLEP investment, through the Local Growth Fund. Attracting businesses and therefore talent to the site is crucial for drawing highly skilled jobs to Bedfordshire, and SEMLEP has recognised Millbrook’s status as a centre of technical excellence for enriching the local community.

Millbrook’s existing customer buildings include an Innovation Centre, which provides flexible office space ideal for start-ups and existing companies, and a wide range of workshops with offices. It provides work places ideal for those looking to use Millbrook’s test tracks, facilities and expertise while saving the commuting and transportation costs. Millbrook’s Technology Park is already home to an increasing number of vehicle technology companies.
