RENEW

RENEW aims to increase the energy efficiency of public sector housing stock in Luton.

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the project has regenerated 224 flats across two blocks with heat recovery technologies, solar PV with battery storage, retrofitted external insulation and a variety of other energy-saving initiatives.

The project achieved savings of 1000kg of CO2 per flat per year, as well as financial savings for residents through an improved Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating – prior to the project energy costs, were around £700 per year per resident.
