My professional background is in employability and education. Having previously worked as an executive officer for the DWP, an employability coach and IT trainer for training providers and in FE, a Careers Adviser for Connexions and more recently a, Head of House, Careers Leader and then Director of Aspiration in a Secondary School. My main strength is innovation and creativity, always happy to try something new with some amazing successes and failures along the way!
I’m a qualified Careers Adviser and Careers Leader and was one of the first to fully meet the Gatsby Benchmarks and complete a revised Quality in Careers assessment, winning both a national best practice award and the CEC School of the year award along the way. I have also featured in a BBC Teach film and contributed to Bitesize and CEC articles.
Passionate about motivating and engaging educational professionals, students and employers about the power of careers education, encounters and guidance and providing them with the knowledge and skills they need in a meaningful and impactful way. An advocate for quality careers for all, always pushing for this to be at the centre of education and not an afterthought. I am an active and supportive member of the wider careers community and give my time to support fellow careers professionals through both the CDI and The Careers Network.
