Neus Garriock appointed Private Sector Deputy Chair of SEMLEP Board

The South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) Board appoints a new Private Sector Deputy Chair to continue championing businesses voices and needs in key economic growth decisions.

With three years of Board experience already under her belt, Neus Garriock, Galliford Try’s East Midlands Business Development Manager is perfectly placed for the role.

SEMLEP sets the strategic economic directions for the South East Midlands in collaboration with private, public and third sector partners. The Board is accountable for all the decisions and actions taken by SEMLEP.

In the role of Private Sector Deputy Chair, Neus will be responsible for championing the needs and voices of businesses in key economic decisions, as well as supporting, steering and challenging fellow Board members.

Talking about her appointment, Neus said, “My experience to date is that when the best of the public and private sector come together, they can go on to deliver really exceptional things. As the Private Sector Deputy Chair, I hope to make even more local businesses voices heard. I’m a great believer that all together, we can really make a difference locally.” 

Neus first joined the SEMLEP Board in December 2018. Having worked at Galliford Try for 17 years, she is passionate about the built environment and sustainable development.

Neus added, "Covid has changed something fundamental in all of us. It's made us re-evaluate our priorities and think a little bit more about what's important. I always say, 'Every pound you spend is a vote for the future that you want to live in.’ It’s our time to chart a green sustainable course for our future."
